Wayne State University student-athletes and cheerleaders had another stellar semester in the classroom during the Winter 2007 term.

Forty-six (46%) percent of Wayne State student-athletes and cheerleaders had over a 3.00 term grade-point average for Winter 2007 with at least 12 academic hours. This includes a WSU record 20 student-athletes with a 4.00 term gpa.

"In a spring that saw WSU athletics achieve its highest national ranking ever in the country, the success of our student-athletes is the perfect compliment to our on-field successes," stated Rob Fournier, WSU Director of Athletics. "The classroom achievement underscores a shared determination to be the best both academically and athletically - two department objectives that are the foundation of our mission.
