WSU's Horn Selected Region Coach of the Year

Wayne State University head golf coach Mike Horn has been selected as the Division II Eaton Golf Pride Midwest Region Coach of the Year.

Horn has led the Warriors to five NCAA tournament appearances in the last six years including the 2009 Super Regional championship along with a 13th-place finish at the NCAA finals receives Region Coach of the Year honors for the first time.

Columbus State's Mark Immelman, who led the Cougars to three tournament victories this season, as well as a third place finish at the NCAA Championship was selected National Coach of the Year. Columbus State was ranked number one in the final two Golf World/NIKE Golf Coaches' Polls of the season.

Immelman was also named as the Southeast Region Coach of the Year. Joining him as regional coaches of the year were John Cook of CSU-Stanislaus (West), Billy Gamble of North Alabama (South), Wayne State's Mike Horn (Midwest), Dax Johnston of Central Oklahoma (South Central), Fayetteville State's Raymond McDougal (Atlantic), Pete Stevens of Post (East) and CU-Colorado Spring's Phil Trujillo (Central).
