The Wayne State Warrior volleyball team (9-10) ended their trip to the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Tournament winless, suffering a tough 3-2 defeat to Missouri S&T (11-10).
The Miners won the match by scores of 17-25, 25-19, 20-25, 30-28, 15-10.
Lindsey Graciak (Westland, Mich./Livonia Churchill) posted a season-best 28 digs.
Katarzyna Sak (Warren, Mich./Cousino) totaled 22 kills and four blocks, while
Madie Kent (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./Grosse Pointe North) added 13 kills and 13 blocks.
Maureen MacDonald (White Lake, Mich./Lakeland) recorded 14 digs.
Ahead 12-11, the Warriors outscored the Miners 13-6 the rest of the way, taking the first set.
In the second, trailing 15-13, Missouri S&T earned seven of the next nine points to take a 22-15 advantage and hold onto the set.
With WSU clinging to a 20-19 lead in the third set, the team rallied, posting five of the last six points.
The Warriors were unable to hold an early 12-3 advantage in the fourth set and ended up losing a heartbreaker 30-28.
In the final set, the score was tied at nine apiece until the Miners won six out of the last seven points to take the match.
