Decatur, Ala. -- The Wayne State University sotball team (0-3 overall) began day two of the 2011 Charger Chillout with a
2-0 setback to the University of Indianapolis (4-0 overall) in an in-region contest.
The Greyhounds scored the only two runs of the contest in the top of the third. With one out, Kelsey Rummel reached on a WSU error and Jamie Keltz followed with a two-run home run to left off Warrior pitcher
Sam Cain (Taylor, Mich. / Kennedy).
WSU had a chance to score first in the bottom of the second as first baseman
Rebecca Ryan (Westland, Mich. / Dearborn Divine Child) had a leadoff single and sophomore outfielder
Steph Foreman () had a one-out single, but a fielder's choice and a pop out ended that threat.
UI hurler Jennifer DeMotte retired nine consecutive Wayne State hitters until a one-out double in the fifth by freshman
Nikki Fulton (Stratford, Ont. / St. Michael Catholic S.S.). Junior shortstop
Lauren Histed (Shelby Twp., Mich. / Utica (Ohio Univ.) singled to put runners on the corner, but back-to-back ground outs ended the frame.
