2026 Hall of Fame Inductee - Jade McGarr

Below is the fifth of the six inductees bios.

Jade McGarr was a four-year softball letterwinner (2013-16) earning All-America recognition both on the field (NFCA Second Team and D2CCA Honorable Mention in 2016) and in the classroom (CoSIDA Academic All-American Third Team in 2016).

She received First Team NFCA All-Midwest Region recognition in both 2015 and 2016 after garnering All-GLIAC First Team honors both of those seasons as well.

In her senior season, McGarr was on the NFCA Player of the Year Watch List. She posted 22 multiple-hit games and led the squad with 46 RBI, 14 multiple-RBI contests and 11 game-winning RBI, while ranking second on the team in average (.406), slugging percentage (.526), runs (43), hits (78), total bases (101), two-out RBI (18) and fielding assists (107). McGarr ranked 10th nationally in terms of toughest to strikeout (four times in 192 at bats).

As a junior, McGarr recorded 23 multiple-hit games, while leading the team in average (.404), doubles (18), stolen bases (7) and fielding assists (102).

In 2014, she drove in three runs with a triple and a home run in the GLIAC Championship game win over Ohio Dominican. McGarr went 3-for-5 with a home run vs. Valdosta State, the first home run at the College World Series in program history.

She concluded her career ranked sixth in program history in both starts (218) and hits (256), eighth in average (.379 / 256-for-676) and in RBI (119), ninth in total bases (331), 10th in slugging percentage (.490), 11th in on-base percentage (.413) and 12th in both home runs (12) and runs (113). Defensively, McGarr ranked sixth in assists (345) and 12th in double plays turned (14).

WSU compiled a 168-64-1 record during her four seasons, including a 75-20 GLIAC regular-season mark and an 18-2 GLIAC Tournament record along with winning four consecutive GLIAC Tournament titles.

A native of Guelph, Ont., McGarr was a three-year GLIAC All-Academic team selection, a seven-time Academic Honor Roll recipient and earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology.
