Midland, Mich. -- The Wayne State University softball squad (30-25-1 overall) had its GLIAC tournament run come to an end with a
4-2 loss to Ferris State University (24-22 overall) Saturday afternoon at Northwood's Fisher Stadium.
The Warriors scored twice in the top of the first off Bulldog starter Dana Bowler as
Logan White had a leadoff single and
Alison Allen blasted a one-out, two-run home run over the left field fence.
FSU scored two times in the bottom of the first and had solo home runs in the second and third innings by Rachel Mueller and Lindsey Petit, respectively.
WSU starter
Sam Cain (13-15) allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits in six innings. She struck out four and did not walk a batter.
Bowler limited Wayne State to two earned runs on eight hits with one strikeout and two walks.

Lauren Histed and
Brittany Omelanchuk each had two hits for WSU who will learn of its NCAA fate on Sunday evening.
