College Hockey America Commissioner Robert DeGregorio announced that 66 student-athletes were named to the
CHA All-Academic Team, including 12 members of the 2010-11 Wayne State University women's hockey team.
Among the Warriors selected was freshman defenseman
Katie Gaskin, who earned a spot on the Academic All-Star Team for posting the highest grade-point average at her position.
Joining Gaskin on the CHA All-Academic Team were juniors
Alyssa Baldin,
Micheline Frappier,
Veronique Laramee-Paquette, and
Jill Szandzik; redshirt sophomore
Marlee Fisher; sophomores
Gina Buquet,
Julie Hebert,
Julie Ingratta, and
Jaclyn Stapleton; and freshmen
Rachel Hardwick and
Lisa Marshall.
To qualify for the College Hockey America All-Academic Team, an individual must post a 3.00 grade-point average or higher in all of the academic periods during which her team was actively competing.
