Gaskin named to Academic All-Star Team

College Hockey America Commissioner Robert DeGregorio announced that 66 student-athletes were named to the CHA All-Academic Team, including 12 members of the 2010-11 Wayne State University women's hockey team.

Among the Warriors selected was freshman defenseman Katie Gaskin, who earned a spot on the Academic All-Star Team for posting the highest grade-point average at her position.

Joining Gaskin on the CHA All-Academic Team were juniors Alyssa Baldin, Micheline Frappier, Veronique Laramee-Paquette, and Jill Szandzik; redshirt sophomore Marlee Fisher; sophomores Gina Buquet, Julie Hebert, Julie Ingratta, and Jaclyn Stapleton; and freshmen Rachel Hardwick and Lisa Marshall.

To qualify for the College Hockey America All-Academic Team, an individual must post a 3.00 grade-point average or higher in all of the academic periods during which her team was actively competing.
