Kissimmee, Fla. -- The Wayne State University softball squad (7-9 overall) rebounded from a 4-2 setback to Southwest Minnesota State (6-5) to blank Lees-McRae (5-21 overall) 4-0 in game two behind a perfect game from freshman hurler Mackenzie Boehler (Saginaw, Mich. / Swan Valley).

The Warriors took an early 2-0 lead over the Mustangs with a run in each of the first two innings.

Senior outfielder Stephanie Foreman (Cambridge, Ont. / Preston) had a two-out double in the first and scored on an RBI single by sophomore Emily Bryce (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester Adams).

Sophomore Briana Lee (Canton, Mich. / Salem) led off the second with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Catherine Rayos (Warren, Mich. / Mott/Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center).  Lee moved to third on a ground out and scored on an SMSU error.

The Mustangs pulled within a run in the bottom of the third on a hit and a sacrifice fly following a pair of walks. 

SMSU scored three times in the sixth on a three-run home run by Amy Dreessen.

Lee (2-5) allowed four earned runs on seven hits in six innings with eight strikeouts.  Foreman was the lone Warrior with a multiple-hit contest.

Boehler retired all 21 Bobcat hitters in the nightcap, not allowing one ball to be hit out of the infield.

WSU scored all four of its runs in the bottom of the third.

Junior second baseman Nikki Fulton (Stratford, Ont. / St. Michael Catholic S.S.) led off the third being hit by a pitch.  Junior outfielder Logan White (Brantford, Ont. / Johnson C.V.I.) followed with an RBI double.  A sacrifice bunt by Foreman advanced White to third where she scored on a sacrifice fly by Bryce.

Freshman third baseman Jade McGarr (Guelph, Ont. / St. James Catholic) had an infield single and Lee reached on an error.  Both runners advanced on a passed ball with both McGarr and Lee scoring on an infield hit by Rayos allowing with a throwing error.

Fulton and White each had a multiple-hit game against the Bobcats.

Wayne State will conclude its spring break trip with a pair of games on Saturday.
