Game One Box Score | Game Two Box Score
Detroit -- Wayne State (15-10, 6-4) took both games of Tuesday's chilly doubleheader with Malone (9-15, 2-9). A four-run second inning in game two would be all the Warriors would need on its way to a 6-1 win. The Pioneers fought hard in game two, taking a 5-4 lead into the fifth inning. However, the Green & Gold scored a run in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings to pull ahead and win 6-5.
Game One (W, 6-1)
Brandyn Hall (2-0) was impressive in game one with 6.0 innings of work allowing just one unearned run and striking out four. Both teams played a scoreless first inning before Wayne State scored four runs in the second inning.

Chris Gebara doubled down the right field line to give WSU a 3-0 lead.
A.J. Matos beat out an infield single to put the fourth run of the inning on the board.
Malone got a run back in the third inning on a Michael Chack sacrifice fly. A failed pickoff attempt allowed the Pioneer baserunner to get into scoring position.
Both teams were scoreless until Wayne State's half of the sixth inning when the Warriors scored two runs. The first coming off another Matos single before a throwing error allowed the second run to cross to make the final score 6-1.
Clayton Ruch pitched the final inning and did not allow a hit and struck out two Pioneers.
Game Two (W, 6-5)
Despite the nearly freezing temperatures, the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader was heated as the lead exchanged hands on four different occasions.
Wayne State scored first in the opening inning on a Koster single up the middle to plate
Jeremy Carrell and
Cameron Walker.
Malone answered quickly with three runs in the top of the second highlighted by two-run single from Chack.
The offensive momentum continued for WSU as the home team put up two more runs in the second. Walker drew a walk and stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Carrell doubled to right field before
Brad Guenther's single to right field gave WSU a 4-3 advantage.
The Warriors' lead was short-lived as Malone scored two runs in its half of the third inning. A Daulton Ritter single and a fielding error accounted for the two runs.
Both teams were quiet until WSU out a run up in the fifth on a Matos double over the head of the Pioneers' centerfielder. Gebara had a sacrifice bunt in the inning to set up the run-scoring play. The Warriors took the lead in the sixth on a throwing error charged to Malone's shortstop allowing Carrell to score.
Ruch exited the bullpen for the second time on the afternoon and this inning would not be as easy as his first. Ruch walked the leadoff hitter before Tyler Eagon sacrificed Matt Davis to second. Two wild pitches moved Davis before Ruch slammed the door with back-to-back strikeouts to pick up his sixth save of the season.
