Wayne State University (27-11, 17-5) took a pair of one-run games from Ohio Dominican (15-23, 10-13) on Saturday with Brad Guenther (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Saline) providing the game-winning runs in both contests via home runs, the first in walkoff fashion. The blasts were his fifth and sixth home runs of the season and over the past 10 games the senior catcher is hitting .512 with six doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI with a .878 slugging percentage.

In addition, with his two hits on Saturday he is now tied for 10th all-time in program history with 179. Wayne State has won of 14 of its last 15 games.

Game One (W, 4-3)
Ethan Vasiliauskas (South Rockwood, Mich. / Carleton Airport) (6-2) went the distance allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out six.

The Panthers struck for two runs in the third inning. Ryan Rovnak doubled down the left field line for a run before Kyle Tisdale smacked a single into center to give ODU a 2-0 lead. A Wayne State error prolonged the inning.

However, the Green & Gold were up to task with three runs in the the bottom of the third inning. Kasey Koster (Portage, Mich. / Purdue North Central) singled home a run following a bunt single from Jeremy Carrell (St. Clair, Mich.) who advanced to second on a wild pitch. Jimmy Jackson (Battle Creek, Mich. / Kalamazoo Valley CC) drove in the second run of the inning with single through the right side before Kyle Zimmerman (Frankfort, Mich.) sent the third and final run of the inning home with a scorcher through the left side, putting the home team up 3-2.

In the seventh inning, Ohio Dominican forced a bottom of the seventh with a run on Bryan Rudolph's single following a leadoff triple from Jossue Delgado. Gunether slowed the visitors' momentum, picking off a runner at first.

On the second pitch of the bottom of the seventh, Guenther delivered a 4-3 game one victory with a missile over the right field wall.

Game Two (W, 2-1)
Alex Pierse (Clinton Township, Mich. / De La Salle) (6-1) tossed his third complete game of the season, allowing one earned run and striking out eight,

Ohio Dominican was able to score first again in game two with a run on a sacrifice fly from Colin Parcher. Pierse avoided the big inning as he struck out Jacob Horsley looking to end the inning with the bases loaded.

Carrell walked with two outs in the fifth before Guenther gave the Warriors a 2-1 lead with his second home run of the day, this one to right center.

Parcher singled to begin the sixth inning and was replaced by pinch runner Christian Prince. Prince was thrown out by Gunther attempting to steal second.

Wayne State collected two singles in the bottom of the sixth but could not plate an insurance run.

Pierse danced around a fielding error in the seventh inning to secure WSU's fifth straight win.

Wayne State will conclude its series with Ohio Dominican on Sunday at noon.
