ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Wayne State University men's basketball team had its first and only exhibition contest of the season on Monday night at #23 Michigan inside the Crisler Center and the Warriors fell 86-43.
The Wolverines controlled the first half and led by as many as 21 points. Michigan led 40-24 at the break.
A pair of Ann Arbor products led WSU's offense in the opening 20 minutes as redshirt sophomore
Michael Lewis (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Huron) led WSU with seven points including the team's first six points and freshman
Tristan Wilson (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Skyline) finished the half with six points.

Clark Bishop (Detroit, Mich. / Renaissance) sat much of the opening stanza with three early fouls.
The momentum continued into the second half for the Division I Wolverines. Michigan cruised down the stretch and collected an easy victory in its first action of the season.
Lewis finished with 15 points and five rebounds to pace the WSU attack. while junior
Gavin Toma (Troy, Mich. / Southfield Christian) scored nine points. The Green & Gold shot just 25.9% (14-for-54) compared to Michigan's 50% clip (28-for-56).
Two other Warriors finished with five rebounds as
Marcus Moore (Lansing, Mich. / Waverly) and
John Draper (Dayton, Ohio / Eastmoor Academy) both pulled down five boards.
The Warriors will officially open the season in Tiffin, Ohio as they participate in the GMAC/GLIAC Challenge over the weekend beginning with Central State at 6 PM on Friday.
