Columbus, Ohio -- The sixth-ranked Wayne State University softball squad (23-7 overall, 3-3 GLIAC) suffered a pair of 3-0 setbacks Sunday afternoon at GLIAC leading Ohio Dominican (14-20 overall, 10-0 GLIAC).  WSU has lost three in a row for the first time this season.

Game 1
The host Panthers had a two-out double in the bottom of the first followed by a two-run home run to center field by Allie Hinton.

The Warriors managed just three hits in the contest.  Senior Logan White (Brantford, Ont. / Johnson C.V.I.) had a one-out single in the fourth, sophomore shortstop Gabby Williams (South Lyon, Mich.) had a one-out single in the sixth, and junior Emily Bryce (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester Adams) had a one-out single in the seventh.

ODU added an insurance run in the fifth on back-to-back two-out singles and a Warrior fielding error leading to an unearned run.

WSU starter Briana Lee (Canton, Mich. / Salem) suffered her first loss of the season (11-1) allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits with nine strikeouts and two walks.

Panther hurler Rachael Stanzel (7-11) did not walk or strikeout a batter, while limiting WSU to three singles.

Game 2
Ohio Dominican's Taylor Thomas hit a two-out first inning home run off WSU starter Mackenzie Boehler (Saginaw, Mich. / Swan Valley) and that would be all that Stanzel (8-11) would need.

Stanzel retired the first 10 Warrior batters until White had a one-out infield single in the fourth.

The Panthers added two insurance runs in the top of the fifth on back-to-back leadoff singles.  One run scored on an infield single and the other on a double steal.

Wayne State's other hit was a one-out pinch-hit single by Lee in the sixth.

Boehler (1-2) allowed three earned runs on six hits with no walks and no strikeouts.

Stanzel had three strikeouts and no walks while holding WSU to two hits.

WSU will host Findlay on Wednesday for a GLIAC twinbill starting at 3:30 p.m. at the WSU Softball Stadium.
