DETROIT -- The Wayne State University volleyball team (7-9, 3-4 GLIAC) completed the weekend sweep with a 3-0 win over Walsh (4-11, 0-7 GLIAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors won by set scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-16 and with the win, WSU has won four of its last six contests.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wayne State led 3-0 to begin the first set after kills from Grace Frazee (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Grand Rapids Christian) and Hailey Richardson (New Boston, Mich. / Huron). Hannah Moore (Louisville, Ky. / Assumption) gave the Warriors a 10-6 advantage. The back-and-forth set continued but the Green & Gold were able to hold onto a 13-10 lead after another point from Richardson. From there, WSU gained momentum and cruised to a 25-18 set-one victory.

- The second set was tied at 5-5 after a Cavalier ball-handling error. Later in the set, Michelle Asiedu (Holland, Ohio / Springfield) gave WSU a four-point advantage at 14-10 with a kill. A 5-0 run powered by back-to-back kills from Frazee extended the lead to 20-12. Walsh was able to rally and pull within three at 23-20 but WSU regained control and secured a 25-21 victory and a 2-0 match lead.

- The Warriors stormed out of the gate in the third set and led 7-1 following a kill from Asiedu. The energy stayed on on the home side of the net and WSU extended its lead to 20-8 after a point from Christa Raicevich (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich. / Grosse Pointe North). Another kill from Asiedu after a 3-1 Walsh run ended the set and gave WSU a 3-0 sweep with the 25-16 set-three win.
