DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's tennis team (6-5 overall, 6-5 GLIAC) posted a 7-2 win over Hillsdale (4-7 overall, 4-7 GLIAC) to conclude the fall regular-season on Wednesday afternoon at the WSU Tennis Courts in Midtown Detroit.

DOUBLES RESULTS
- Sophomore
Dasha Kuznetsova (Moscow, Russia) and freshman
Julia Walz (Rastatt, Germany) topped Corinne Prost and Kamryn Matthews, 8-1, at the second doubles flight, and sophomore
Liv Peisachovitz (Vaughan, Ont.) and junior
Liz Ghellere (Ararangua, Brazil) defeated Halle Hyman and Katie Bell in a 9-8 (5) comeback victory at No. 1 doubles.
- Seniors
Lauren Hughes (Detroit, Mich. / Southfield) and
Ashley Walker (Canton, Mich. / Salem) fell, 8-4, to Dana Grace Buck and Madeline Bissett at the third doubles position.
SINGLES RESULTS
- Peisachovitz beat Prost in two sets (6-1, 6-0) at the second singles flight, while Ghellere recorded a victory (6-2, 6-2) over Bissett at No. 3 singles.
- Hughes garnered a two-set win (6-4, 6-1) against Julia Formentin at the sixth singles position, and sophomore
Astrid Ciellza (Tecumseh, Ont.) bested Matthews, 6-3, 6-3, at the fifth singles flight.
- Walz won in a super tiebreaker, 10-8 (6-3, 6-7(3), over Buck at No. 4 singles, while Kuznetsova retired to Hyman in the second set due to injury at the first singles position.
UP NEXT
- The Warriors will begin the fall postseason at the GLIAC Tournament as the No. 6 seed, starting on Oct. 28 in Midland, Mich. at the Greater Midland Tennis Center. WSU finished third in the tournament last season.
