ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (2-6) dropped a 6-3 match against the third ranked NAIA team in the country, Keiser (14-3) on Sunday. The Warriors are spending their Spring Break trip in Florida and have two more matches remaining before beginning the GLIAC schedule on March 25.
DOUBLES RESULTS
- The No. 2 doubles pair of senior
Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) and sophomore
Taylor Vane (Southampton, England) were the lone doubles team to earn a victory, winning 8-6.
- Senior
Ryan Carlson (Armada, Mich.) and junior
Harvey Reed (Winchester, Hampshire, England) fell at the top flight of doubles, 8-3.
- Freshman
Mats Westkamp (Born, Germany) and sophomore
Griffin Mertz (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) dropped their match at No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
SINGLES RESULTS
- Wetskamp and Charriere won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Wetskamp on 6-3, 6-0 and Charriere defeated his Seahawks' counterpart 6-4, 6-4.
- Mertz, Vane, Carlson and sophomore
Nicholas Ang (Rochester, Mich.) lost their singles matches. Vane dropped a thriller 10-6 in the third set.
