Lake Superior State's Sadie Dewildt made a triple on the opening possession of the stanza to make it a one-point game.  A Villemure bucket on the ensuing possession was followed by a free throw from each team.  Another Villemure bucket was answered by a triple from Khon.  Matus then made back-to-back triples in a span of 25 seconds extending the Wayne State lead to nine (64-55) wth 7:00 remaining.  The Warrior defense held Lake Superior without a made field goal for the final 6:30 and just two free throws in that span.  Meanwhile, the WSU offense tallied nine points during that time.
