ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Wayne State University men's tennis team (7-7 overall) returned to action following its spring break trip Sunday morning, falling 5-4 to host Lewis (6-5 overall).
Freshman 
Niklas Karcz (Bottrop, Germany) was the sole double winner for the Warriors.  He won at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-1, over Anton Levitin.  In doubles, he teamed with sophomore 
Derek Sammons (Coldwater, Mich.) to defeat Chandler Stimpert and Brendan Peterson, 8-6.
DOUBLES RESULTS
In the first flight, junior 
Taylor Vane (Southampton, England) and sophomore 
Mats Westkamp (Bonn, Germany) fell 8-5 to Alan Braschisky and Oskar Lusti.
At No. 2, junior 
Griffin Mertz (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) joined senior 
Harvey Reed (Winchester, England) fell 8-4 to Andre Norasith and Levitin.
SINGLES RESULTS
Westkamp competed at No. 1, losing 6-2, 6-7, 6-4 to Brachinsky.
Vane earned a win over Lusti in the second flight (3-6, 6-0, 6-4), and Mertz won 6-2, 6-1 over Norasith in the third flight.
Reed and Sammons fell to Peterson and Stimpert in the fifth and sixth flights, respectively.  Reed fell victim to a 6-4, 6-4 result, while Sammons was defeated 7-6, 6-3.
