MIDLAND, Mich. – The Wayne State University men's tennis team (14-11 overall) finished in second place at the GLIAC Tournament Sunday, falling 5-0 to No. 1 seed Ferris State (20-2 overall).
DOUBLES RESULTS
The Bulldogs swept the doubles division to take a 3-0 lead into the singles flights.
Sophomore
 Mats Westkamp (Bonn, Germany) and freshman 
Niklas Karcz (Bottrop, Germany) fell 9-8 (2) to Stew Sell and Nur Adim Iswan in the first flight.
Juniors 
Taylor Vane (Southampton, England) and 
Griffin Mertz (Farmington Hills, Mich. / North Farmington) faced Austin Debruyne and Daniil Tarantinov in the third flight, but lost 8-6.
Senior 
Harvey Reed (Winchester, England) and sophomore 
Derek Sammons (Coldwater, Mich.) were defeated 8-6 at No. 3 by Pablo Munoz Baroja and Mathis Guerre.
SINGLES RESULTS
Only two of the singles matches were completed, as the Bulldogs clinched the contest with victories at fifth and sixth singles.  Westkamp, Karcz, Vane and Mertz all had their matches go unfinished at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No 4, respectively.
Reed and Sammons played at the fifth and sixth flights.  Reed was topped by Baroja (6-2, 6-2), while Sammons fell 6-4, 7-6 (2).
