GAME ONE RECAP

WSU started to chip away with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second.  Senior Kylee Barrett (Croswell, Mich. / Croswell-Lexington) had a leadoff single, stole second and scored on a double by senior Kristen Lucas (Newmarket, Ont.).  After a wild pitch, Lucas scored on a wild throw to the plate following a fly out.

The Warriors scored once in the third as junior Hannah McClounie (Essex, Ont.) worked a walk and went to second on a single by junior Ashley Messina (Troy, Mich.) on an 0-2 pitch.  With two outs, sophomore Emma Adams (Rockwood, Ont.) singled to make it 7-4.

In the bottom of the fifth, Adams had a two-out single, and pinch-runner Hailey Lazarek (Allen Park, Mich.) advanced to third on a double by Lucas.  Psenicka drove in a pair of runs with a double down the right field line.  Sophomore Brooke Turkalj (St. Jacobs, Ont.) then single to plate Psenicka with the tying run.

In the bottom of the seventh, Lucas smacked a one-out double, her third two-bagger of the game.  Psenicka singled up the middle on a 1-0 pitch scoring Lucas with the winning run.  It was WSU's first walk-off win of the season, and Psenicka's first career game-winning RBI.
