STOW, Ohio – The Wayne State University women's tennis team (16-8 overall, 8-2 GLIAC) earned a weekend neutral site sweep on Sunday, defeating Indiana, Pa. (12-5 overall) by a score of 6-3.

The Warriors earned points in the second and third flights. Seniors
Liz Ghellere (Ararangua, Brazil) and
Andreea Mitrache (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Warren Cousino) were 8-1 winners over Katya Minchenkova and Nicole Beidacki, and freshmen
Linda Liong (Tanjung Kidurong, Malaysia) and
Brianna Douglas (Dayton, Ohio / Chaminade Julienne) won 8-3 over Mariana Valenzuela and Julia Newman.
In the first flight, junior
Dasha Kuznetsova (Moscow, Russia) and freshman
Khadija Da-Silva (Burlington, Ont. / Robert Bateman S.S.) lost 8-6 to Jarka Petercakova and Luise von Agris.
SINGLES RESULTS
Mitrache (first flight), Da-Silva (third flight), Ghellere (fourth flight), and Liong (fifth flight) were al winners for the Warriors.
At No. 1, Mitrache won 6-3, 6-2 over Petercakova. Da-Silva earned a 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Minchenkova. Ghellere heled off Beidacki, 6-2, 6-3, with Liong rounding out the scoring with a 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 win over Newman.
Kuznetova lost to von Agris in the second flight (7-6 (6), 6-4), while Valenzuela bested Douglas at No. 6 (3-6, 6-4 (14-12)).

Wayne State will close out the regular season with a pair of matches next week, starting at 2 p.m. Sunday against Notre Dame College. WSU will round the schedule out with Walsh at 3 p.m. on April 17.
