MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio -- The Wayne State University women's tennis squad (13-2 overall, 7-2 GLIAC) blanked Notre Dame College (1-5 overall, 0-3 MEC), 7-0, in the road contest on Thursday.
DOUBLES RESULTS
Freshman
Laura Cazacu (London, England) and sophomore
Linda Liong (Tanjung Kidurong, Malaysia) were first off the courts after sweeping Laura Herrera and Camryn Kidd, 6-0, at No. 2 doubles.
At No. 1 doubles, senior
Dasha Kuznetsova (Moscow, Russia) and sophomore
Khadija Da-Silva (Burlington, Ont.) claimed a victory in their match, 6-3, against Emily Hofsess and Ameer Robertson.
Senior
Astrid Ciellza (Tecumseh, Ont.) and freshman
Carla Jewell (Hobart, Ind.) won their No. 3 doubles match by default.
SINGLES RESULTS
Jewell was first off the courts with a No. 4 singles win over Kidd (6-1, 6-3).
At No. 1 singles, Cazacu notched a victory over Herrera (6-1, 6-3).
Da-Silva won her No. 2 singles match versus Hofsess (6-4, 6-0).
Liong was last off the courts after claiming a victory over Robertson (6-3, 6-1) at the third flight.
