Women's Tennis Upended 7-0 by #2-Keiser

The Warriors will play Scranton on in Orlando on Sunday.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Wayne State University women's tennis team (14-4 overall) fell 7-0 to Keiser (12-1 overall) on Saturday.  The Keiser women's tennis squad is ranked second in the NAIA.

DOUBLES RESULTS
Senior Astrid Ciellza (Tecumseh, Ont.) and freshman Carla Jewell (Hobart, Ind.) were blanked 6-0 in their No. 3 doubles match against Aleksandra Grela and Anais Gabriel.

At No. 2 doubles, freshman Laura Cazacu (London, England) and sophomore Linda Liong (Tanjung Kidurong, Malaysia) fell 6-2 to Daniela Farfan and Emma Henriksen.

Senior Dasha Kuznetsova (Moscow, Russia) and sophomore Khadija Da-Silva (Burlington, Ont.) won their No. 1 doubles match 7-5 vs. Sarah Schaerer and Lorene Foerste.

SINGLES RESULTS
Da-Silva was the first off the courts, losing her No. 4 singles match to Grela (6-2, 6-1).

At No. 6 singles, sophomore Stephanie Stamate (Windsor, Ont.) was swept by Henriksen (6-0, 6-0).

Kuznetsova lost her No. 1 singles match against Farfan (6-3, 6-3).

Cazacu dropped her No. 2 singles match to Gabriel (6-1, 6-3).

At No. 5 singles, Jewell fell to Foerste (6-3, 6-3).

Liong was the last to finish, losing her No. 3 singles match to Schaerer (6-4, 6-0).

WSU will face Scranton in Orlando on Sunday, March 10, at 5:00 PM.
