Men's Tennis Sweeps Davenport

The Warriors notched a 7-0 home victory.

DETROIT - The Wayne State University men's tennis team (2-6 overall, 1-2 GLIAC) won 7-0 against Davenport (7-5 overall, 2-1 GLIAC) on Friday morning.
 
DOUBLES
 Sophomore Dom Spicer (London, England) and sophomore Luke Laws (Sunderland, England) claimed a 6-4 win over Juan-Louis van Antwerpen and Jonathan Bulmer at No. 1 doubles.
 
Freshman Daniel Grey (Wiesbaden, Germany) and junior Donovan Nguyen (Shelby Township, Mich. / Utica) won their match in a tiebreaker 7-6 (3) vs Frank Piana and Daniil Khitrou.
 
At No. 3 doubles, junior David Solar (Prague, Czech Republic) and Freshman Joe Steele (Beverly Hills, Mich.) won their third-flight match 6-3 against Matt Leatherman and Juan Contoleon.
 
SINGLES

 Grey was first off the courts, winning his No. 2 singles match versus Piana, 6-1, 6-0.
 
At No. 3 singles, Laws won his match against Khitrou, 7-5, 6-2.
 
Spicer won his No.1 singles match vs van Antwerpen, 6-4, 6-2.
 
At No. 4 singles, Solar notched a victory over Bulmer, 6-1, 6-3, 6-2.
 
freshman David Pluszczyk (White Lake, Mich. / Lakeland) won his No. 5 singles match over Contoleon, 6-0, 6-7, 10-4.
 
At No. 6 singles, Steele won his match against Leatherman, 6-7, 6-1, 10-7.
