Men's Tennis Wins 5-2 At Ashland

WSU will play against Michigan Tech on April 11.

Box Score ASHLAND, Ohio -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (3-6 overall, 2-2 GLIAC), playing its first match in two weeks, won 5-2 at Ashland (4-5 overall, 1-3 GLIAC) on Friday afternoon.
 
DOUBLES
 
At No. 3 doubles, junior David Solar (Prague, Czech Republic) and freshman Joe Steele (Beverly Hills, Mich.) won their match 6-0.
 
Sophomore Dom Spicer (London, England) and sophomore Luke Laws (Sunderland, England) claimed a 6-3 victory at first doubles.
 
Freshman Daniel Grey (Wiesbaden, Germany) and junior Donovan Nguyen (Shelby Township, Mich. / Utica) fell in their No. 2 doubles, 6-2.

 
SINGLES
 
At No. 6 singles, Steele won his match 6-2, 6-2.
 
Solar notched a victory at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 7-5.
 
At No. 3 singles, Laws won his match 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
 
Freshman David Pluszczyk (White Lake, Mich. / Lakeland) won his No. 5 singles match 5-7, 7-5, 10-5.
 
At No. 1 singles, Spicer fell 6-2, 7-6 (4).
 
Grey lost at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-4.
