DETROIT- The Wayne State University women's tennis squad (5-7 overall, 1-2 GLIAC) won 6-1 against Davenport (1-11 overall, 0-3 GLIAC) on Friday afternoon.
 
 
DOUBLES
 Junior Carla Jewell (Hobart, Ind.) and Senior Stephanie Stamate (Windsor, Ont.) won the No.3 doubles match by forfeit.
 
Senior Linda Liong (Sarawak, Malaysia) and Suki Mandair (Dexter, Mich. / Ann Arbor Skyline) won their No. 1 doubles match, 6-1.
 
Senior Brianna Douglas (Dayton, Ohio / Chaminade Julienne) and Senior Irena van Meer (Amsterdam, Netherlands) won their No. 3 doubles match, 7-5.
 
SINGLES
 Douglas was first off the courts, winning the No. 3 singles match, 6-0, 6-1.
 
Van Meer won her No. 4 singles match, 6-1, 6-2.
 
At No. 2 singles, Mandair won 6-1, 6-3.
 
At No. 5 singles, Stamate won 6-0, 6-0.
 
At No. 1 singles, Liong fell 6-3, 7-6(7), 10-8.
 
The Warriors won No.6 singles by forfeit.
