Box Score ASHLAND, Ohio -- Playing its first match in exactly two weeks, the Wayne State University women's tennis squad (6-7 overall, 2-2 GLIAC) won 7-0 at Ashland University (3-4 overall, 1-3 GLIAC) on Saturday afternoon.
 
DOUBLES
 
Junior Laura Cazacu (London, England) and senior Linda Liong (Sarawak, Malaysia) won their No. 1 doubles match 6-1.
 
Seniors Irena van Meer (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Brianna Douglas (Dayton, Ohio / Chaminade Julienne) won 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.
 
Junior Carla Jewell (Hobart, Ind.) and senior Stephanie Stamate (Windsor, Ont.) won their third doubles match, 7-5.
 
SINGLES
 
Liong was first off the courts, winning the No. 1 singles match, 6-0, 6-0.
 
Jewell won her fourth singles match, 6-3, 6-0.
 
At No. 6 singles, van Meer won 6-1, 6-3.
 
Cazacu won her No. 2 singles match, 6-3, 6-3.
 
At No. 5 singles, Stamate posted a 5-7, 7-5, 10-3 victory.
 
Douglas won at third singles, 0-6, 7-6 (3), 10-7.
