HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Wayne State University volleyball team (7-13 overall, 2-7 GLIAC) ended the Midwest Regional Crossover on a high note Saturday defeating Ohio Dominican in four sets despite dropping the first.

"Today was another solid performance by the Warriors. We played very physical and executed to win against a very good team from Ohio Dominican. I'm very proud of our full team's effort today.
HOW IT HAPPENED (19-25, -19, -23, -27)
- Wayne State trailed by as many as nine, 21-12, in the first set before scoring six-straight times to pull within three, 21-18.
- However, Ohio Dominican notched four of the five ensuing points to seal the period and a 1-0 match lead.
- The second stanza saw the Warriors score seven of the first nine total points.
- The Panthers eventually utilized an 8-1 spurt to tie the period up for the first time at 17-17.
- WSU was able to slam the door shut, though, thanks to seven of the next nine points.
- The third set was one of runs as both teams held a lead of four at different times.
- ODU was clinging to a one-point advantage, 21-20, before WSU closed it out with a 5-2 burst.
- The fourth stanza was the Warriors' best offensively at .475 (20 kills, 1 error, 40 swings).
- With that being said, it was a tight back-and-forth affair that saw 18 ties and six lead changes.
- Looking to close out the match, Wayne State was down one, 27-26, before rattling off three straight to win the match.
LEADING THE WARRIORS
- Miller had a day with 18 kills and only six errors on 39 total attacks for a .308 hitting percentage.
- That effort marked the fourth time this season that she's sent home at least 10 kills with a hitting percentage of better than .300.
- Giroux was at it again with 17 kills and just three errors on 30 swings for a .467 hitting percentage.
- That means she's hit at least .364 in five of her last seven outings.
- Thanks to her 46 assists, Dulgar has reached the 40-assist mark in three-straight matches for the second time this season.
ONE BIG THING
- Wayne State hit at least .300 (.302) for the fourth time this season, is 4-0 in those matches and 7-1 when hitting at least .240.
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
Following play, Dulgar was one of six players to represent the GLIAC on the Midwest Regional Crossover All-Tournament Team. For the week, the freshman racked up 135 assists (12.3 per set), 22 digs and four service aces.

Wayne State will get back to GLIAC play with Northern Michigan at home on Friday, Oct. 20 and the first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
