DETROIT -- The Wayne State University volleyball team (9-14 overall, 4-8 GLIAC) took a midweek trip to No. 16 Ferris State (20-4 overall, 13-0 GLIAC) on Wednesday night. The Warriors won the first set, but dropped the next three snapping their season-long four-match winning streak.
HOW IT HAPPENED (-20, 13-25, 15-25, 17-25)
- Ferris State scored four of the match's first five points and five of its initial seven.
- Aside from three ties at 6-6, 12-12 and 13-13, the Bulldogs held the lead until the score was 15-13.
- From there until the end of the set, the Warriors outscored the home team 12-5 to go up 1-0 in the match.
- WSU hit a blistering .371 in that period to FSU's clip of .167.
- The second set saw a two-point affair in favor of the hosts at 10-8 before they embarked on a 15-5 spurt to even it up at one set apiece.
- In the third, Wayne State was up two at both 5-3 and 6-4.
- Ferris State punched back with 15 of the proceeding 18 points to boast an advantage of 10, 19-9.
- From there until the end of the stanza, the Warriors were unable to pull closer than seven (19-12).
- The fourth set was a tight one to start featuring 10 ties and three lead changes in the first 31 total points.
- At that point, the Bulldogs clinged to a one-point advantage, 16-15, before slamming the door with nine of the final 11 scores.

- Ferris State out-hit Wayne State efficiency wise, .316 to .137.
