Vondrasek Joins Strength & Conditioning Staff

DETROIT -- Wayne State University head strength and conditioning coach Ruben Mendoza has announced the addition of Megan Vondrasek as a graduate assistant starting in January.

"Being a former collegiate competitor, Megan will bring a tremendous work ethic and make an immediate impact working with our student athletes," commented Mendoza.

Vondrasek's primary sports for the upcoming semester will be men's and women's fencing, men's and women's golf, and the throwers with the track and field squad.

A native of Owosso, Mich., Vondrasek earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Adrian College in December of 2023.  She received academic honors all four years while at Adrian, and previously served as an intern at her alma mater during 2023.  In addition, Vondrasek was named a Scholar All-American in 2023 by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

Vondrasek was a member of the Adrian College women's wrestling team for four years (2020-23).  While a student-athlete for the Bruisers, she was an All-American in 2021 and was named team captain for the women's wrestling program in back-to-back seasons (2021-22 and 2022-23).
