DETROIT -- Saturday, December 2, the Wayne State University athletic department and the baseball program partnered with Alan Trammell and Lance Parrish for the 13th Annual Trammell/Parrish Camp for participants ranging across grades 2-12 at the WSU Fieldhouse, Doris J. & Donald L. Duchene, Sr. Athletic Facility, Gary Bryce Field and Harwell Field.
This offseason camp event attracted over 100 developing baseball players to the Wayne State University campus. Trammell and Parrish are longtime clients of Wayne State University alum S. Gary Spicer, Sr. (MBA '65) who arranged for the appearances and established this camp experience. Approximately 4,000 participants have attended the camps since 2010.

Saturday's morning session focused on defensive play with the Alan Trammell infield and the Lance Parrish catching camp sessions. The afternoon curriculum included the Winning Offense session featuring hitting, baserunning, classroom content, mental approach and more geared toward the offensive side of baseball.
Trammell spent all 20 of his Major League seasons with the Tigers and was part of the 2018 Hall of Fame class. A six-time All-Star, Trammell was a four-time Gold Glove winner and three-time Silver Slugger Award winner. Since his tenure as a player, Trammell has garnered extensive experience as a Major League Baseball coach and manager. Trammell is currently a Special Assistant to the General Manager within the Detroit Tigers organization.
