Brett Zimmerman (Frankfort, Mich. / Frankfort) two-run homerun in the second. However, the Bulldogs took the lead for good in that sixth frame, 3-2, handing the Warriors just their second loss of the young season.
Kaden Stively (Washington, Mich. / Romeo) (0-1) lasted five-and-a-third innings while giving up three earned runs on seven hits to go with one walk and a strikeout. In relief,
David Thurman (Southfield, Mich. / Detroit Edison) handled the final 2.2 frames without surrendering a run on just two hits along with one free pass and a punchout.
Entering the bottom of the sixth with Wayne State holding a 2-0 advantage, Minnesota Duluth proceeded to put up a three spot with back-to-back RBI singles to left field followed by an RBI fielder's choice to the Warriors' shortstop,
CJ Maury (Brampton, Ont. / Mayfield SS).
