GLIAC -- Wayne State newcomer
Inja Fric (Ljubljana, Slovenia) has taken home the first GLIAC Golfer of the Week honor of her career.
Fric won medalist honors at the Lady Bulldog Fall Invite on Monday and did so with a two-round score of 146 (+2, 70-76). Fric is the third player in program history to finish atop the individual leaderboard joining teammates
Sabel Imesch (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) and
Maisarah Hezri (Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia), both of which did so as freshmen last season.
For the season, the 5-3 right hander is up to a pair of top-10 finishes with a 76.9 stroke average through seven rounds played. Fric's other top-10 placing came at GVSU's Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite where she tied-for-fourth with a nine-over 153 (80-73).
Fric and her teammates will be in action again on Oct. 2-3 at the William Beall Fall Classic to be played at the Findlay Country Club.
