ROME, Ga. -- The Wayne State University women's tennis team had two doubles pairs compete in the second day of the ITA Cup hosted by Berry College. The Warriors finished with a combined record of 2-2.
Malak Arafat (Alexandria, Egypt) and
Martyna Szpakowska (Gdansk, Poland) would fall in a competitive quarterfinal match to Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz (Angelo State). The other pair for the Green and Gold,
Anais Ruyssen (Nantes, France) and
Dea Gorgidze (Tbilisi, Georgia), faced Karen Kondo and Selina Wu (Saint Marys) in a consolation quarterfinal bout. Ruyssen and Gorgidze would prevail after taking the match to three sets.
