HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Wayne State University volleyball team (8-10 overall) dropped a five-set thriller to Walsh (12-8 overall) inside the Hammond Sportsplex late on Saturday afternoon to wrap up play at the Midwest Regional Crossover.

HOW IT HAPPENED (12-25, -23, 18-25, -18, 14-16)
- Wayne State fell to 0-5 in five-set matches this season.
- The Warriors hit .206 for the match with 53 kills and 24 errors on 141 total attacks.
- Walsh countered with a .193 clip of its own on 50 kills and 24 mishaps on 135 swings.
- The Cavaliers came out red hot hitting .458 in the opening stanza (13-2-24).
- WSU's best individual set was the fourth at .321 (14-5-28).
- WU notched 15 service aces, tied with Ohio Dominican and Purdue Northwest for the most by an opponent this fall.
