ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The Wayne State University volleyball team (13-12 overall, 10-5 GLIAC) led No. 12 Grand Valley State (24-2 overall, 13-2 GLIAC) two sets to none on the Lakers' floor on Thursday night. However, the home team proceeded to win the next three sets and send the Warriors home empty handed.

HOW IT HAPPENED (-15, -22, 16-25, 19-25, 13-15)
- Wayne State dropped to 0-6 in five-set matches this season.
- Grand Valley State improved to 3-0 in such outings this fall.
- The Warriors hit .253 on Thursday with 64 kills and 21 errors on 170 total attacks.
- The Lakers responded with a .284 clip on 67 kills and 19 mishaps through 169 swings.
- WSU's best individual set was the second at .432 (20-1-44) while GVSU's was the fifth at .458 (13-2-24).

Kayla Dulgar was the first of two Warriors with a double-double thanks to 55 assists (two off personal best) and 10 digs.
- That marked her eighth double-double of 2024, first in nearly a month, and 19th of her career.
- The other double-double belonged to
Molly Miller on 14 kills and 14 digs.
- Miller is up to seven double-doubles for the season and 14 as a Warrior.

Kayla Giroux was brilliant again with a match-high 19 kills and only three errors on 49 attempts, also a match high.

Ella Uganski sent home a season-high 12 kills, just three short of her personal best.

Leigha Baldwin accounted for eight kills and just two errors on 16 total attacks for a .375 hitting percentage.

Maya Wegand tallied three service aces, her fourth outing with that many and second in the last three.
- The Wayne State defense racked up 10 total blocks, its most in a true road match this season.

Kendyl Andrews dug out a team-high 20 attacks and
Carly Rodman notched 12 as well.
