DETROIT -- The Wayne State University volleyball team (14-12 overall, 11-5 GLIAC) wrapped up its 2024 regular season on Friday night with a win in four sets at Roosevelt (4-22 overall, 2-13 GLIAC). The Warriors hit .203 for the match, their third-lowest clip in a victory this season, with 46 kills and 19 errors on 133 total attacks.
"This was a tough match tonight," said head coach
Tim Koth. "It was weird travel after the tough match last night. Not to mention it was RU's Senior Night and they played really well. Carly had a very strong serve, pass and defend match for us tonight that really helped keep us in it. Very proud of her."

HOW IT HAPPENED (19-25, -20, -14, -16)
- As mentioned above, Wayne State hit .203 while Roosevelt countered with a clip of .074.
- That .074 output featured 38 kills and 27 mishaps on 148 attempts.
- The Warriors' best set was the third at .448 (17-4-29) while the Lakers' was the first at .167 (16-8-48).

Kayla Dulgar reached nine double-doubles for the fall and 20 in her career.
- Dulgar did so with 30 assists and 16 digs, each of which were a match high.
- The sophomore was one of four Warriors with double-digit digs along with
Kendyl Andrews (13),
Carly Rodman (12) and
Molly Miller (10).
- Also on defense,
Ella Uganski racked up seven total blocks, six of which were assisted.
- As a team, the Warriors churned out nine service aces, tied for their third most in a match this season.
- Three of those nine came off the hand of Miller, one away from the senior's season best.

Kayla Giroux paced the match's kill category with 13 to five errors on 28 swings for a .286 hitting percentage.
- Uganski concluded an excellent two-match stretch with nine kills and only one error on 15 looks to hit .533.

Fourth-seeded Wayne State will host fifth-seeded Michigan Tech in the GLIAC Tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. inside the Matthaei. The Warriors and Huskies faced off once in the regular season, Oct. 25 in Detroit, with the home team taking care of business in straight sets.
