Softball Adds Two Transfers From Notre Dame College

Fick and Fisher join the Warriors with two years of collegiate experience.

DETROIT -- Wayne State University head softball coach Nicole Tines, who will be entering her fourth season this fall, has added two transfers from Notre Dame College to bolster the Warrior roster for 2025.

Coming to the Motor City are utility player Danielle Fick (Wolverine Lake, Mich. / Walled Lake Central) and pitcher Grace Fisher (Painesville, Ohio / Riverside).

"We are very excited about the additions of Grace and Danielle to our program," stated Tines.  "Both athletes bring experience and depth to our team.  We are looking towards the future and know both Grace and Danielle will help with our growth and where we want to go."

2024:  One of two players to start all 59 games for Notre Dame College ... started every game at shortstop ... batted second, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth, but usually fourth (24 times) or fifth (17 times) ... posted a five-game hitting streak (2/24-3/5, 10-for-15, .667 with three doubles and six RBI) ... recorded nine multiple-hit games, including back-to-back three hit affairs (3/5 vs. Golden-Beacom and Dominican) ... led the team with 15 doubles, and ranked second with five triples, 29 RBI and 23 walks ... was 10-for-10 in stolen base attempts ... recognized at the 2024 Notre Dame College Honors Convocation for academic achievement.

2023:  Started all 58 games (56 at SS, 2 at C) for the Falcons of Notre Dame College ... batted leadoff, second, fourth and fifth, but usually first (51 times) ... drove in 17 runs and led the team with 13 doubles, 37 runs scored and 22 stolen bases ... the 37 runs scored ranked ninth in the MEC ... finished second on the squad in batting average (.292), hits (56), home runs (4), total bases (81) and walks (14) ... selected as the squad's Rookie of the Year ... generated a nine-game hitting streak (3/10-3/25, 14-for-31, .452, with nine RBI, six doubles and three home runs) ... smacked first career home run 3/16 at Mercyhurst ... notched a four-bagger in both games of a doubleheader vs. West Liberty (3/22) ... also had a round-tripper vs. Fairmont State (4/7) ... posted a .343 on-base percentage, along with a .422 slugging percentage ... earned MEC Commissioner's Honor Roll (GPA of 3.25-3.69) recognition.

High School:  A 2022 graduate of Walled Lake Central High School ... was a three-year softball letterwinner for coach Samantha Tatu ... batted .440 as a senior with nine home runs, 62 runs scored, 19 doubles, and 10 stolen bases ... received All-District, All-Conference, All-Region, and All-State accolades ... also played volleyball for the Vikings ... garnered All-Academic recognition ... played summer ball for Turnin2 and coach Mike Kish.

2023:  Appeared in 32 games in the circle, making 28 starts ... voted to the All-Mountain East Conference Second Team ... compiled a 12-12 record with a 2.98 ERA ... tossed 17 complete games with five shutouts ... struck out 141 batters in 169.0 innings ... recorded two saves and limited opponents to a .263 batting average ... struck out at least 10 batters in a game twice, including a season-best 13 in a three-hit shutout of Frostburg State ... earned MEC Commissioner's Honor Roll (GPA of 3.25-3.69) recognition.
