DETROIT -- The Wayne State University volleyball team (21-5 overall, 13-3 GLIAC) has captured at least a share of the GLIAC Regular-Season Championship for the first time in 44 years.  Friday night inside the Matthaei, the Warriors handled Purdue Northwest (13-11 overall, 7-8 GLIAC) in straight sets for the 2025 regular-season finale.

If Ferris State (21-6 overall, 12-3 GLIAC) loses to Parkside on Saturday, WSU will claim the fourth outright GLIAC Regular-Season Championship in program history and first since a third straight in 1981.  Fast forward to the current campaign and WSU pulled off its 10th sweep of the season, tied with 2022 for the program's most since 12 in 2021.

"I'm extremely humbled by this team," said 12th-year head coach Tim Koth.  "The work and dedication they have shown is exceptional and there's more to come!!"
