Softball Adds Two Transfers To Strengthen Roster

DETROIT -- Wayne State University head softball coach Nicole Tines, who enters her fifth season guiding the Warriors this fall, along with assistant coach Hannah Kelly have added two transfers to bolster the WSU lineup in 2026.

Outfielder Julia Sandles (Macomb, Mich. / Dakota [Missouri-St. Louis]) and pitcher Kyra Shadduck (De Witt, Mich. / DeWitt [Lansing Community College]) joined the WSU softball program this summer.

"We are looking forward to the additions of Julia and Kyra," remarked Tines.  "Both student athletes exemplify what it means to be a WSU student-athlete - strong in the classroom, wonderful young ladies and both will help strengthen our lineup on the field.  Julia and Kyra bring a skill set that will be great additions to our roster and we feel that along with our returners and incomers we have gotten stronger.  We are excited to continue to grow as a program."
