The Green and Gold improves to 7-1 in conference action and ranks second in the league standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST QUARTER
The Warriors tallied a 15-3 run to start the contest, including 11-consecutive points.  RU's Kelly Boyle splashed a triple to slow WSU's onslaught, before Koko Sylvester (Toledo, Ohio / Start) found the bottom of the net on a lay-up (17-6).  Isabel Linda (RU) connected on a long-range jumper to cut the lead to eight points (17-9), but Wayne State closed the opening frame with a 9-0 scoring outburst for a 26-9 advantage.

SECOND QUARTER
Emily Homan (Haslett, Mich.) pushed the margin to 20 points (29-9) after draining a three pointer on the opening possession of the second quarter.  Boyle (RU) responded with a triple of her own, but seven-straight points for the Warriors made it 36-12 at the 7:06 mark.  A 9-2 run for the Lakers brought them within 17 (38-21).  Six of the next eight points belonged to the home team, to once more take an advantage of 20 points or more (44-23).  Roosevelt out-paced the Warriors 6-4 to conclude the second quarter, with WSU leading 48-29.

Senior forward Gabi Lutchka (Grass Lake, MIch.) was perfect from the floor in the first two quarters, going 5-of-5 from the field, including 2-of-2 from deep for 12 points, while being +23 when on the court.

THIRD QUARTER
After over 2:00 of scoreless action, Jaci Tubergen (Hudsonville, Mich. [Bowling Green]) found the bottom of the net on a lay-up to make it 50-29.  Aubrey Leonard (RU) tallied a pair of lay-ins, prior to a triple and a jumper from Lutchka (55-33).  The squads went back-and-forth for the remainder of the stanza, as Wayne Sate led 64-40 with one period remaining.

FOURTH QUARTER
Six-straight points for the Green and Gold began the final frame and extended the lead to 30 points (70-40).  RU tallied 10 of the final 18 points, with WSU securing the 78-50 home win.
