Men's Swim & Dive Finishes 2026 NCAA Championships

Wayne State tied-for-14th among the 31 schools that scored.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The Wayne State University men's swimming and diving team wrapped up it's five-day stay at the 2026 NCAA Championships on Saturday evening inside the Deaconess Aquatic Center. The Warriors placed in a tie-for-14th among the 31-team field with 81 points scored.

"Our men had a mixed bag of performances at Nationals," said Head Coach Sean Peters. "I was happy that all of our swimmers scored and that the majority scored individually, so I do think we are building towards something special. Clearly, the big story is Max [Wasiniak] and his victory in one-meter diving, as well as his third-place finish on the three-meter board. He is only the third male diver in history to win an NCAA title for Wayne State, and he had a remarkable season! Looking back on it all, this men's team is growing in front of my eyes, and I do believe that they can and will use this experience to grow even more next season."
