FLORENCE, Ind. -- The Wayne State University women's golf team sits atop the eight-team leaderboard following day one of Cedarville's Belterra Classic at Belterra Golf Club. Monday night, the Warriors carded a 44-over 612 (315-297), but were able to decrease their score by 18 strokes from the first round to the second. WSU holds a six-stroke edge over Ashland in second place.
"I'm really proud of how everyone scored today," said head coach
Larry Hamilton. "Everyone stayed focused and hung in there when we needed it the most. Round two was extra special in that it was our lowest round of the year and it really showed how hard the girls have been working. We're all looking forward to tomorrow and getting another opportunity to play our best."
