Softball Adds Treat To 2026-27 Signing Class

DETROIT -- Wayne State University fifth-year head softball coach Nicole Tines has announced the signing of Madi Treat for the 2026-27 academic year.

"Madi is a great fit to round out our 2026 recruiting class," commented Tines.  "She brings athleticism, versatility and speed to our lineup.  We are very excited for what this incoming class is going to bring to our team.  Madi possesses a great work ethic along with a lot of passion and energy which is infectious."

High School:
 Will be a 2026 graduate of St. Clair High School ... will earn her third varsity letter this spring for coach Libby Cody ... helped SCHS to a Macomb Area Conference (MAC) White Division title as a junior with an 11-1 record (22-6-2 overall record) ... selected to the 2025 Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association Division 2 All-State First Team as well MAC White Division MVP ... batted .524 (54-103) from the leadoff position with nine doubles, four triples and 11 home runs ... finished with a 1.010 slugging percentage (104 total bases), along with a .554 on-base percentage ... totaled 41 RBI with 45 runs scored, and was 28-of-29 on stolen base attempts ... twice hit for the cycle as a junior ... helped the Saints to a district title as a sophomore, while batting .357 (30-for-84) with 14 extra-base hits (10 2B, 4 HR), 21 RBI and 12 stolen bases ... also received a varsity letter as a senior in basketball ... recipient of the SCHS Strive Scholarship ... played summer ball in 2025 for the Revolution 18U Klonica and batted .418 with six home runs and 31 RBI.

Treat ... born on August 18, 2008, in El Paso, Texas ... daughter of Joseph and Jasmine Treat ... father was a wide receiver on the 1997 Texas Longhorns football team ... has two younger brothers, Jax and Jett, and two younger sisters, Aubree and Fynlee ... plans to major in Physical Therapy.

Wayne State will play 10 of its final 12 conference games at home starting with doubleheaders this Saturday (1 PM vs. Ferris State) and Sunday (Noon vs. Davenport).
