Women's Tennis Seventh in Latest Regional Ranking

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's tennis team is ranked seventh in the Midwest in the most recent regional rankings by the NCAA.  This is the final regional ranking until the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, May 4, at 8:30 PM.

WSU jumps one spot after being ranked eighth last week.  Seven teams qualify for the NCAA Midwest Regional, with the top two teams each hosting a section of the regional.  The top-ranked team will play host to a pair of schools, while the No. 2-seeded squad will welcome three teams. 

Joining Wayne State from the GLIAC are Grand Valley State (first), Ferris State (third), and Davenport (fourth).

ITA RANKINGS UPDATE
In addition to the NCAA releasing its regional rankings, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) posted its most recent poll, with the WSU's Martyna Szpakowska ranking 48th nationally in singles, and third in the Midwest.
