Nidds Named Assistant Athletic Trainer at Wayne State

DETROIT -- Wayne State University Athletic Department's Dr. Lisa Erickson, who serves as Associate Athletic Director/Head Athletic Trainer, has announced the addition of Kyra Nidds as an assistant athletic trainer.

"We are pleased to welcome Kyra as our new Assistant Athletic Trainer," stated Erickson.  "Her passion for athlete care, attention to detail, and commitment to providing outstanding support align perfectly with the values of our department.  Kyra brings valuable experience and a student-athlete-centered approach that will strengthen our Sports Medicine Team, and we look forward to the positive impact she will have across our athletic programs."

Nidds, who joined the WSU athletic department last week, earned a bachelor's degree in Health and Kinesiology from the University of Utah in 2023, and a master's degree in Athletic Training from the University of Michigan in 2025.

She spent the past year as a Certified Intern at Auburn University working with the women's soccer program.  Nidds, who had previously completed a 2024 summer internship with the Kansas City Chiefs, is a native of Cave Creek, Ariz.
