DETROIT -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its 2026 academic awards with the Wayne State University men's tennis squad being tabbed as an All-Academic Team. In addition, eight individuals garnered Scholar-Athlete honors.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale)
- All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form
- All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
The WSU men's tennis team had a 3.8214 cumulative GPA during the 2025-26 academic year.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- Be listed on the institutional eligibility form

The Green and Gold collected a 14-11 overall ledger that included a 4-2 mark within the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and an appearance in the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament.
