DETROIT -- The Wayne State University swimming and diving teams and 30th-year head coach
Sean Peters have announced the schedule for the 2026-27 campaign.
"I absolutely love our schedule next year, as we face against some of the best programs in Michigan, as well as having many invitational opportunities for our athletes to face off against great athletes from numerous strong programs," said head coach
Sean Peters. "I am excited to match up against Division I, II and III opponents, as we look to work towards our February GLIAC meet in Holland, Michigan, and our March Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana. Let's do this!"
The squads will begin competitive action at the Davenport Invitational on Oct. 9-10, followed by the Eastern (Michigan) Classic on Oct. 16-17. After the programs' annual Alumni Meet on Oct. 23, the Warriors will host a tri-meet on Nov. 6-7 inside the Matthaei Natatorium against the likes of Northern Michigan, Findlay and Lake Superior State.
Moving into the final month of the calendar year, December 2-5 will see the Warriors travel to Rochester for Oakland's Golden Grizzly Classic. That event will be followed up by four straight dual meets, all of which will take place in January of 2027. That quartet includes at Grand Valley State on Jan. 9, home against Davenport on Jan. 22, home vs. Oakland on Jan. 23, and home against Calvin on Jan. 29 for Senior Day.
Postseason competition will begin with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC) Championships at the Holland Community Aquatic Center in Holland, Mich. on Feb. 17-20. Following the league meet will be the NCAA Championships on Mar. 9-13 in Indianapolis, Ind. at the IU Natatorium.
