DETROIT -- Wayne State University men's and women's cross country and women's track & field head coach
Grant Lofdahl has announced the addition of two graduate assistant coaches for the upcoming year. Joining coach Lofdahl's staff are former WSU All-American
Reagan Justice and
Brenden Marcum, who has coached the running programs at Johannesburg-Lewiston the last eight years.
"We are extremely pleased to have Reagan rejoining WSU, this time in a coaching capacity," commented Lofdahl. "As a former team captain, GLIAC champion, and school record holder, she has detailed knowledge of the campus and the city, and of how to succeed as a Warrior student-athlete. Her attitude and work ethic will be invaluable to the next generation of runners in the program.
"Brenden is making the leap to the collegiate coaching world after a highly successful tenure as a high school coach. He and I are very much on the same page in terms coaching philosophies, but he will bring a new perspective to the team. His dedication and knowledge of the sport will make our team better this fall and beyond."
Justice comes back to WSU following a one-year stint at Western Michigan University in 2025-26. She was a four-year student-athlete for the Warriors for both cross country and track and field from the fall of 2021 through the spring of 2025. Justice earned All-American honors after a 37th-place finish (21:24.70) at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships.

Marcum joins the WSU coaching staff after an eight-year stint (2017-25) as the cross country coach at Johannesburg-Lewiston Area Schools in Johannesburg, Mich.
During his tenure there, the Cardinals achievements included: 2022 MHSAA Division 4 Women's Team State Championship; 2022 MHSAA Division 4 Men's Team State Championship Runner-Up; 2023 MHSAA Division 4 Women's Team State Championship Runner-Up; 2023 Sprint Medley Relay All-American; and 2024 & 2025 800 Meter State Champion & D4 State Record Holder (Allie Nowak).
Marcum ran cross country for Michigan State University 2007 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from MSU in 2025.
