Biography

Former Warrior Erika Barczak is serving as a graduate assistant diving coach for the 2008-09 season.

2007-08: Chosen as the GLIAC Female Student-Athlete of the Year ... voted WSU Female Student-Athlete of the Year (becoming the first WSU female to be a two-time recipient) ... selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large (College Division) First Team ... voted to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District IV College Division Women's At-Large First Team ... Deans' Award winner (highest cumulative gpa among student-athletes enrolled in that college) from the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts ... NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP: Earned two First Team All-America honors by placing fourth in one-meter diving (408.75) and sixth on the three-meter board (366.85). GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIP: Won the one-meter diving event for the second straight year (366.45) and the three-meter for the third consecutive year (448.60), breaking her own school record with her score in the latter. SEASON: Named the GLIAC Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week (Nov. 12) after winning both the one-meter (253.27) and three-meter (260.55) events Nov. 9 at the Calvin Invitational, making NCAA cuts in both ... was a recipient of the Winter 2008 GLIAC Commissioner's Award ... received a 2007-08 DII ADA Academic Achievement Award.

2006-07: Voted to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team ... Deans' Award winner (highest cumulative gpa among student-athletes enrolled in that college) from the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts ... named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team ... NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP: Earned an Honorable Mention All-America award after finishing 14th in the one-meter diving with a score of 291.70. GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIP: Won both the one-meter (377.10) and three-meter (447.75) diving competitions.

2005-06: Selected WSU's Female Student-Athlete of the Year ... Deans' Award winner (highest cumulative gpa among student-athletes enrolled in that college) from the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts ... named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team. NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP: Earned her second straight First Team All-America honor on the three-meter board, placing sixth with a score of 379.70, improving on her eighth place finish in 2005. Finished 13th on the one-meter board, scoring 291.35, earning her second straight honorable mention All-America in that event. GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIP: Won the three-meter diving (400.35 points), while placing second in the one-meter diving (320.20).

2004-05: NCAA CHAMPIONSHP: Earned First Team All-America honors by placing eighth on the three-meter board, scoring 358.40 points ... became the first All-American female diver for Wayne State since 1986 ... earned All-America honorable mention in the one-meter event, placing ninth with 317.65 points. GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIP: Placed second in three-meter diving (403.90 points) and fourth in the one-meter event (328.20) ... will participate in the pre-qualification meet at the NCAA Division II Championships after scoring 270.20 points on the one-meter board vs. Northern Michigan and Hillsdale Nov. 20.
