Matt Bullinger is entering his second season on the Wayne State University men's basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant in the fall of 2023.  He assists the program with all aspects of development, scouting and operations.

In his first season with the Green and Gold, WSU improved both its overall and GLIAC win totals from the previous year with a totally new coaching staff.

Before Wayne State, Bullinger served as an assistant coach and adjunct professor at Kalamazoo Valley Community College from 2018 until 2022.  Prior to his time with the Cougars, he was a camp coach at IMG Academy in the summer of 2018.  He earned his bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences from Indiana University-South Bend in 2019.

While at Kalamazoo Valley CC, Bullinger coached two All-Region XII players, nine Academic All-Conference players, and helped seven student-athletes earn scholarships to four-year schools.  Kalamazoo Valley was 22-9 in coach Bullinger's final season on staff.

He started his playing career at Jackson Community College playing in 59 games and making 57 starts in two seasons for the Jets in 2014-15 and 2015-16.  Bullinger finished his collegiate career at Indiana-South Bend where he played in 24 games as a junior and 28 games as a senior.

A native of Jackson, Mich., Bullinger played his prep basketball at Lumen Christi.
